Press Release- Return of the Rt. Hon. Vice President from Qatar
The Right Honourable Vice President, Mr Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, returned to Nepal today upon the completion of a three-day official visit to the State of Qatar.
During the visit, the Right Honourable Vice President called on His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, at Lusail Palace in Lusail City and handed over a ‘Letter of Condolence’ from the Right Honourable President of Nepal, Mr Ramchandra Paudel, on the passing away of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Amir of the State of Qatar, who passed away on 12 July 2026.
Following the handover of the letter, the Right Honourable Vice President held a brief conversation with His Highness the Amir. During the meeting, the Right Honourable Vice President paid tribute to the late Father Amir's visionary leadership and his invaluable contributions to the modernisation and development of the State of Qatar, as well as to the strengthening of the longstanding bilateral relations between Nepal and the State of Qatar. He also conveyed, on behalf of the Government and people of Nepal, his deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to His Highness the Amir, the Royal Family, the Government, and the people of the State of Qatar on this profound loss.
The Right Honourable Vice President was welcomed by Honourable Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai and other senior officials upon his arrival.
The Right Honourable Vice President was accompanied by senior officials from the Office of the Vice President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the Chargé d'Affaires a.i. and other officials of the Embassy of Nepal in Doha.
