Nepal-Slovenia Relations
Political Relations
Nepal and the Republic of Slovenia established diplomatic relations on 2 December 1997. The bilateral relations between the two countries are based on friendship, mutual respect and understanding. The Embassy of Nepal in Vienna is concurrently accredited to Slovenia, while the Embassy of Slovenia in New Delhi is concurrently accredited to Nepal. Both countries have established Honorary Consulates in each other’s capital.
Exchange of Visits/Meetings
Exchange of high-level visits between the two countries have been limited. Officials from both countries engage constructively on the sidelines of multilateral forums, particularly at the United Nations.
Trade
The trade balance remains in favour of Slovenia. Some of the commodities imported by Nepal are machinery appliances, toys, plastics, rubber oil seeds and oleaginous fruits etc. Nepal exports tobacco, malt extracts, articles of leather, clothing accessories, headgear and thereof, musical instruments, works of arts and antiques.

Tourism and People-to-People Relations:
A small number of tourists from Slovenia visit Nepal each year, primarily for high-altitude trekking and mountaineering. It is estimated that around 3,500 Nepali nationals currently reside in Slovenia.
