Right Honourable Prime Minister Mr. K P Sharma Oli had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Türkiye His Excellency Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan this evening.
On the occasion, the two high dignitaries expressed their utmost satisfaction over the excellent state of bilateral relations subsisting between Nepal and Türkiye. The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further explore the avenues of bilateral cooperation in various areas including trade, investment, air connectivity and science & technology for mutual benefit of the two countries.
During the conversation, the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister appreciated the leadership of Türkiye for their pivotal role being played in maintaining regional stability and securing lasting peace in the region. The Rt. Hon. Prime Minister requested for goodwill and support of H.E the President and the Turkish Government for the release of Mr. Bipin Joshi who has been held hostage by the Hamas since October 7, 2023.
H.E. the President of Türkiye assured that he would do best of his efforts to facilitate in the release of Nepali hostage, Mr. Bipin Joshi.
The telephone conversation was held in a friendly and cordial atmosphere.
