Press Release on the Official Visit of the Vice President of Viet Nam to Nepal

At the invitation of the Right Honourable Vice President of Nepal, Mr. Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, Her Excellency Madam Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, arrived in Kathmandu today for a three-day official visit.

Her Excellency the Vice President was warmly received at the VIP lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport by Honourable Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, Minister for Foreign Affairs. On the occasion, a Guard of Honour was presented by the Nepali Army. The Honourable Badri Prasad Pandey, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, along with senior officials of the Government of Nepal, was also present to welcome the visiting dignitary.

Later in the afternoon, the Honourable Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, paid a courtesy call on Her Excellency Madam Vo Thi Anh Xuan in Kathmandu. The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere, during which the two sides exchanged views on a wide range of bilateral matters, including fostering high-level exchanges, promoting tourism cooperation, and the possibility of initiating air connectivity, reflecting the spirit of friendship and cooperation between Nepal and Viet Nam.

This is the first-ever visit at this level from Viet Nam to Nepal and carries special significance as the year 2025 marks the 50^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
