Minister of Home Affairs Hon. Mr. Ramesh Lekhak hosted a Working Luncheon in honour of visiting Foreign Minister of the Swiss Confederation H. E. Mr. Ignazio Cassis and his delegation in Kathmandu today. Foreign Secretary Mr. Amrit Bahadur Rai and other senior officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Home Affairs and Finance were also present at the Luncheon.
During the Working Luncheon, the two Ministers held cordial and productive discussions on various aspects of Nepal-Switzerland relations. Both the Ministers expressed their satisfaction over the existing state of bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen these ties in the days to come. The discussions of the two Ministers covered a wide range of bilateral topics, including economic cooperation; Nepal’s graduation from LDC status; promotion of trade, tourism and investment; transitional justice; migration, among others.
The Swiss Foreign Minister H.E. Mr. Ignazio Cassis arrived in Kathmandu on an official visit yesterday and will return tomorrow.
