At the invitation of Foreign Secretary of Nepal Mr. Amrit Bahadur Rai, Foreign Secretary of India Shri Vikram Misri paid an official visit to Nepal on 17-18 August 2025.
During the visit, the Foreign Secretary of India paid courtesy calls on Rt. Hon. President of Nepal Mr. Ramchandra Paudel, Rt. Hon. Prime Minister of Nepal Mr. K P Sharma Oli and Hon. Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba at their respective offices on 17 August 2025.
The Foreign Secretary of India handed over the formal invitation of the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi to Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Mr. K P Sharma Oli for an official visit to India at a mutually convenient date.
The Foreign Secretary of Nepal and the Foreign Secretary of India held extensive discussions on matters of physical connectivity, energy cooperation, digital connectivity and various aspects of development cooperation with a focus on maximizing possible deliverables for the upcoming visit of the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister of Nepal to India.
The Foreign Secretary of India departed for New Delhi this afternoon.
