Bilateral Meeting between the Vice Presidents of Nepal and Philippines

A bilateral meeting between Hon’ble Mr. Nanda Bahadur Pun, Vice President of Nepal and H.E. Maria Leonor Gerona Robredo, Vice President of the Republic of Philippines was held at the Office of Vice President of Nepal Bhadur Bhawan today.

On the occasion, the two Vice Presidents discussed all aspects of Nepal-Philippines relations. They expressed happiness over the growing relations between Nepal and Philippines in multiple sectors. The Vice Presidents also noted that Nepal and Philippines have immense potential for cooperation in the sector of tourism because of the similarities in culture and life style.

H.E. Maria Leonor Gerona Robredo stated that among others, Nepal and Philippines can share each other’s experiences as labor sending countries. She pointed out that both Nepal and Philippines have been facing similar kind of problems with regard to laborers working in foreign destinations.

Hon’ble Mr. Pun, agreeing with her, stated that Nepal and Philippines can cooperate in several areas including tourism and education. He acknowledged Philippines’ support to Nepali students studying at different Universities in Philippines.

H. E. Maria Leonor Gerone Robredo was accompanied by Non Resident Ambassador of Philippines to Nepal and other officials from the Government of Philippines. From Nepali side, Secretary of the office of Vice President and other officials from the Government of Nepal were present in the Meeting.

H. E. the Vice President arrived in Kathmandu from Manila on 29 November 2018.
