Attention of the Ministry has been drawn to a news report appeared in the Himalayan Times daily today regarding the retreat venue for the 4th BIMSTEC Summit. The news report attributing to a Member State for the change in the venue of the retreat is regrettable and totally baseless. It is up to the host Government to decide the venue for such retreat. The Ministry has regularly informed about preparation of the BIMSTEC Summit to the media through regular official press briefings. The Ministry requests all concerned to verify from the official source the credibility of news on such a sensitive matter involving a friendly country before it is reported.
