The Minister for Foreign Affairs Hon. Mr. Pradeep Kumar Gyawali is leaving Kathmandu today for the Maldives, leading a three-member delegation to the Fourth Indian Ocean Conference to be held in Male from 3 to 4 September 2019.
Heads of State and Government, Foreign Ministers, other Ministers, diplomats and scholars from over 40 countries are scheduled to participate in the Conference. The theme of this year’s Conference is “Securing the Indian Ocean Region: Traditional and Non-Traditional Challenges”.
Hon. Minister for Foreign Affairs will address the Conference on 3 September 2019.
During the visit, Hon. Minister for Foreign Affairs will have a meeting with his counterpart H. E. Mr. Abdullah Shahid, Foreign Minister of the Maldives.
Hon. Minister for Foreign Affairs is scheduled to return Nepal on 5 September 2019.
