Hon. Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Pradeep Kumar Gyawali held separate meetings with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Singapore His Excellency Mr. Vivian Balakrishnan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mauritius His Excellency Mr. Nandcoomar Bodha, and the Assistant Foreign Minister of Vietnam His Excellency Mr. Nguyen Van Thao this morning on the sidelines of the Fourth Indian Ocean Conference being held in the Maldives.
During the meeting between Hon. Foreign Minister and his Singaporean counterpart, both Ministers expressed satisfaction at the excellent bilateral relationship and agreed to further strengthen it. They held the view that exchange of high-level visits will contribute significantly to this end. They also had an understanding to establish a bilateral consultative mechanism and a business forum. At that time, Hon. Gyawali requested the Singaporean Minister to encourage Singaporean investors to make investment in Nepal.
The discussion between the Foreign Ministers of Nepal and Mauritius was focussed on exchange of high-level visits, expansion of the employment opportunities for Nepali migrant workers in Mauritius and also promotion of tourism with a view to enhancing the bilateral relationship in all potential areas of mutual benefit.
Likewise, both Ministers of Nepal and Vietnam expressed happiness at the continuous growth of the bilateral relationship and laid emphasis on expanding it in the time to come. Furthermore, they agreed to promote tourism, culture and people-to-people relations between the two countries. The Vietnamese Minister expressed his support to Nepal to host UN Veshak Day event.
