The sixth meeting of Nepal-India Oversight Mechanism was held in Kathmandu today to review the progress made in the implementation of bilateral economic and development projects.

The meeting was co-chaired by Foreign Secretary Mr. Shanker Das Bairagi and Ambassador of India to Nepal H. E. Mr. Manjeev Singh Puri. During the meeting, the status of implementation of all ongoing bilateral projects between Nepal and India was discussed. While expressing commitment to extend all necessary facilitation to ensure smooth execution of the projects within the specified timeframe, the two sides agreed to expeditiously address the problems faced by the implementing agencies.

As agreed during the State Visit to India by the Prime Minister of Nepal in September 2016, the Nepal-India Oversight Mechanism was set up in order to take measures to implement ongoing bilateral projects within defined timeline.

The seventh meeting of the mechanism will take place on a mutually convenient date.
