Rt. Hon. President Mrs. Bidya Devi Bhandari has sent today a message of condolence to His Excellency Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, on the passing away of former President Jiang Zemin.
In her message, the Rt. Hon. President has said that in the demise of President Jiang Zemin, Nepal has lost a true and distinguished friend. The President has recalled the state visit to Nepal by late President Jiang Zemin in 1996 that contributed to further strengthening of close friendship and cooperation between Nepal and the People’s Republic of China.
Likewise, in his condolence message to His Excellency Mr. Li Keqiang, Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Mr. Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that late President Jiang Zemin was a great friend and well-wisher of Nepal.
The Rt. Hon. Prime Minister has also recalled the contribution made by late President Jiang Zemin to consolidate and nurture the longstanding bond of cordiality, friendship, and cooperation between Nepal and China.
