Press Release on the Official Visit of the Rt. Hon’ble Prime Minister to Viet Nam and Cambodia

At the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, His Excellency Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc and the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, His Excellency Mr. Samdeh Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister Right Honourable K P Sharma Oli is paying an official visit to Viet Nam on 9-13 May 2019 and to Cambodia on 13-15 May 2019. The Prime Minister will be accompanied by his spouse, Mrs. Radhika Shakya.

During the visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to hold delegation level bilateral talks with his Vietnamese counterpart H.E. Mr. Phuc.  He will also meet with the President of the National Assembly. The Prime Minister of Viet Nam will host an official dinner in honour of the Prime Minister of Nepal and his delegation.

During his visit to Viet Nam, the Prime Minister will address the International Day of Vesak in Ha Nam Province in Viet Nam. He will also address the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Nepal-Viet Nam Business Forum in Ha Noi.  During the visit, the two countries will sign some agreements and memorandum of understandings to further promote bilateral relations.

Similarly, during the visit to Cambodia, the Prime Minister will hold delegation level bilateral talks with his Cambodian counterpart H.E. Hun Sen. Following the official talks, the Cambodian Prime Minister will host an official dinner in honour of the Prime Minister and his delegation.

He will also meet with the President of the National Assembly and the President of the Senate. He will also address the business meeting in Phnom Penh.

The members in the delegation of the Prime Minister include Minister for Foreign Affairs Hon. Mr. Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Chief Advisor and Foreign Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister, Members of the Parliament, high-ranking Government officials, elected representatives from local bodies as well as representatives of private sector and media persons.

The Rt. Hon’ble Prime Minister and the delegation will return home on 15 May 2019.
