Press Release on the Constitution Day and National Day Celebration in Berlin, Germany

On the occasion of the fourth Constitution Day and the National Day of Nepal, the Embassy of Nepal hosted a grand reception in Berlin on September 24, 2019.

H. E. Mr. Ramesh Prasad Khanal, Ambassador of Nepal to the Federal Republic of Germany, highlighted the significance of the day in the annals of the Nepali history. He also informed the august gathering about ongoing efforts made by the Government of Nepal to usher in a new era of sustainable development and prosperity in the country. Referring to the friendly, cordial and cooperative relationship existing between Nepal and Germany for the last 61 years, he expressed his firm belief that the bilateral relations would further grow in the days to come.

On the occasion, H.E. Mr. Tobias Pfluger, Chairman of the South Asian Parliamentary Committee at the Federal Parliament of Germany, lauded the decision of the Government of Nepal to observe Constitution Day as the National Day and hoped that with new Constitution Nepal would now be able to march on the path towards peace and prosperity.

High officials and Parliamentarians of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, Businessmen and tour operators of Germany, Diplomats, Friends of Nepal in Germany, Honorary Consulate Generals of Nepal, Representatives of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), Professionals and members of Nepali community were present on the occasion.

In view of the promotion of the Visit Nepal Year 2020, the Embassy also organized a cultural program including poetry recitation by famous Nepali poet Mr. Nawaraj Parajuli, dance performances by Nepali students and community members and traditional Dhime Baja renderings by Mr. Ranav Adhikari and the team.
Guests were presented with traditional Nepali food and Nepal tourism promotional materials. Videos related to the Visit Nepal Year 2020 was also screened on the occasion.

The reception began with the national anthems of Nepal and Germany.

In the beginning, Mr. Bishal Bhattarai, Counsellor and Deputy Chief of Mission welcomed the guests with his welcome remarks.
