A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishing bilateral consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Nepal and Denmark was signed amidst a special function at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark in Copenhagen this morning.

Mr. GhanshyamBhandari, Joint Secretary and Head of Europe America Division of the Ministry and Ambassador Mr. Erik Laursen, Head of Department of Asia, Latin America and Oceania of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark signed the MoU on behalf of their respective Ministries.

Following the signing ceremony, the first meeting of the bilateral consultations was held between the two delegations, led by Mr. Bhandari and Mr. Laursen. The overall state of bilateral relations between the two countries was discussed in the meeting. The two sidesexchanged views on promoting cooperation in areas of trade, investment,education, tourism and people-to-people relations. They also deliberated on issues of multilateral cooperation.

Other members of Nepali delegation were Mr. DornathAryal, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Nepal in Copenhagen, Mr. Lakshuman Khanal, Under Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Madhab Raj Kafle, Third Secretary at the Embassy of Nepal in Copenhagen. The Danish delegation included Mr. Peter Jul Larsen, Senior Advisor and Mr. MadsHovore Anderson, Head of Section of Asia, Latin America and Oceania, both from Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
