His Excellency Mr. Mani Prasad Bhattarai, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, hosted a National Day reception on 20 September 2019 to celebrate the historic day for the commemoration of promulgation of the Constitution of Nepal in 2015.

In his remarks on the occasion, Ambassador Bhattarai conveyed the best wishes and warm greetings from The Rt. Hon. President Bidya Devi Bhandari and The Rt. Hon. Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli. Stating that the rights-based, inclusive, federal and democratic Constitution is the outcome of the struggles and aspirations of Nepali people over seven decades, the Ambassador said that the Constitution embraces core values of multi-cultural society and reflects geographical diversity of the country.

The Ambassador further mentioned that with political stability in the country, the Government of Nepal is currently focused on achieving sustained peace, social justice, economic prosperity and sustainable development with the vision of realizing “Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali”. He highlighted that ‘Visit Nepal 2020’ is being observed as a special occasion for tourists to enjoy Nepal’s unique combination of nature, culture and adventure, and also welcomed the attending guests to visit Nepal with families and friends and enjoy a lifetime experience.

Geneva-based diplomats, Heads of Missions and senior officials from International Organizations, as well as friends of Nepal and Nepali professionals were present at the National Day reception.
