Press Release on 11th Nepal EU Joint Commission Meeting

The 11th meeting of the Joint Commission between Nepal and the European Union (EU) is scheduled to be held in Kathmandu tomorrow.

Foreign Secretary of Nepal Mr. Shanker Das Bairagi and Deputy Managing Director for Asia and the Pacific of the European External Action Service (EEAS) of the EU Ms. Paola Pampaloni will lead their respective delegations to the meeting. The two sides will take stock of overall aspects of the bilateral relations between Nepal and the European Union including cooperation in the regional and multilateral issues of mutual interests.

The EU delegation met with the Hon. Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration and the Hon. Minister for Finance yesterday; Foreign Affairs Advisor of the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister and the Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation today separately, and is scheduled to call on the Hon. Minister for Foreign Affairs tomorrow.

Earlier today, the 3rd meeting of the Sub-Commission on Development Cooperation between Nepal and the European Union was held in the Ministry. The meeting exchanged views on the whole spectrum of the ongoing development cooperation between Nepal and the EU. The meeting also discussed the future course of action for enhanced level of partnership and increasing the effectiveness of the development cooperation.
