The Rt. Hon. Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli has sent a message of congratulations to the Rt. Hon. Theresa May MP on her assumption of the high office of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
While recalling the bicentennial of traditionally warm, close, friendly and cooperative relations between Nepal and the UK that both countries are celebrating this year, the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Oli has expressed sincere appreciation for the consistent solidarity extended by the UK to Nepal in its struggle for democracy. He has also expressed gratitude for the UK’s continued contribution to Nepal’s development endeavours.
The Rt. Hon. Prime Minister has further stated that Nepal’s topmost priority today is the implementation of the Constitution promulgated in September last year while expediting the most urgent post-earthquake reconstruction works. Nepal is engaged in laying the foundation for accelerated and sustainable economic development. Against this backdrop, he has expressed hope for UK’s continued solidarity and cooperation.
