Press Release issued by Nepali Embassy, Muscat on Investment Prospects in Nepal

PRESS RELEASE

The Embassy of Nepal, Muscat organized a luncheon program on the theme “Investment Prospects in Nepal”on Monday, 01 July 2019 at the “W Muscat Hotel” in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.

The program commenced with the national anthems of the Sultanate of Oman and Nepal and lighting the traditional oil lamp jointly by H.E. Ambassador Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal and the Guest of Honour H.E. Eng. Ahmed bin Hassan Al-Dheeb, Undersecretary of Ministry of Commerce and Industry; H.E. Sh. Hilal Marhoon Al-Mamari, Head of West Asia Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; H.E. Dr. Yahya Abdulla Al Fannah, Head of Economy Sector, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Abdul Adhaim Al Bahraini, CEO of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry. “Malshree Dhun” was also played during lighting ceremony.

During the program, a video was played with highlights of the speeches of the distinguished speakers including the Right Hon. Prime Minister of Nepal in “Nepal Investment Summit, 2019” held on 29-30 March 2019 in Kathmandu, Nepal. Delivering her speech, H.E. Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal elucidated the importance of Investment in Nepal to achieve the national motto of “Prosperous Nepal and Happy Nepali.” H.E. Ambassador explained on various sectors including agriculture, energy, infrastructure, education, industrial infrastructure, urban infrastructure, transport infrastructure. Related videos were also played during the speech on each sector. During the speech, H.E. Ambassador explained about various legal, institutional and policy reforms undertaken by the Government of Nepal to make the investment friendly environment. H.E. Ambassador urged for the cooperative hands from all over the world for socio-economic prosperity and progress of Nepal.

H.E. Ambassador presented a token of love to the Guest of Honour, H.E. Eng. Ahmed bin Hassan Al-Dheeb.

Around 55 people attended the program including H.E. Ambassadors of different countries and Head of Missions and some Economic and Trade Counsellors of the various embassies based on Muscat as well as special representatives from The Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development (ITHRAA) Oman and State General Reserve Fund, Oman were present in the program.
