The Hon’ble Foreign Minister Mr. Narayan Prakash Saud paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Ilham Heyder Oglu Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan today. He congratulated the President for the able leadership to NAM and for the successful hosting of NAM Ministerial Meeting in Baku. During the meeting, they exchanged views on the matters of mutual interest to further strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Nepal and Azerbaijan.
The Foreign Minister also had a meeting with H.E. Mr. Jeyhun Aziz Oglu Bayramov, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Government of Republic of Azerbaijan. Matters of mutual interest were discussed towards further deepening the bilateral ties between the two countries.
On the sidelines of the event, the Foreign Minister had bilateral meetings with H.E. Mr. Ahmed Khaleel, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Maldives and H.E. Tharaka Balasuriya, State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka.
The NAM Ministerial Meeting adopted Political Declaration and Final Outcome Document. The 19th NAM Summit will be hosted by Uganda in January 2024, in Kampala.
The Foreign Minister will arrive in Kathmandu on 8 July 2023.
