The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Rtd) sent a Congratulatory message to the Right Hon’ble President Bidya Devi Bhandari on the occasion of the National Day of Nepal.
The Governor-General, on behalf of the Government and people of Australia as well as on his own, extended best wishes to the President of Nepal as well as to the Government and people of Nepal on this occasion. The Governor-General also congratulated Nepal for the successful conduct of the local elections that took place in twenty years. “It was encouraging to see the enthusiasm with which the Nepalis engaged in the democratic process. As a Federation itself, Australia appreciates the unique challenges for Nepal in transitioning to a federalist system and is committed to supporting Nepal in the Process” the Governor-General expressed in his message to the Right Hon’ble President.
The Governor-General also expressed the confidence that the friendly relations between Nepal and Australia will continue to prosper in the coming year.
