The UK Minister of Defence People, Veterans and Service Families, H.E. Dr. Andrew Morrison MP called on the Rt. Hon’ble Prime Minister, Mr. Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” at Singha Durbar yesterday. They exchanged views on various matters of bilateral cooperation and strengthening the relationship further.
Earlier, Hon’able Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Bimala Rai Paudyal received Defense Minister of the United Kingdom at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, the Foreign Minister appreciated the continued cooperation of the Government of the UK in the socio-economic development of Nepal. She praised the leadership role and contribution of the UK Government during the CoP26 and also thanked for the support during COVID-19 pandemic.
In the meeting, the issue of Gorkha Veterans was also discussed, and progress of last meeting was briefed. The two sides realised the need to conclude the issue soon. This year Nepal and UK are celebrating the 100th year of the conclusion of Nepal-UK Friendship Treaty and 70th year of the first summiting of the Everest.
The visiting delegates also met with the Defense Minister of Nepal, Hon’ble Mr. Hari Prasad Upreti at the Ministry of Defense, Singha Durbar.
