Ladies and Gentlemen,
On behalf of the Government of Nepal and on my own, it is my distinct pleasure and honour to express sincere felicitations to the Government and people of the People’s Republic of China on the auspicious occasion of Chinese Lunar New Year.
I firmly believe this new year is very special given it being a dragon year. As the dragon is the symbol of strength and power, I am confident that this new year will bring more progress and prosperity to Chinese people.
Nepal and China enjoy an excellent state of bilateral relations based on the strong foundations of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, the age-old legacy of friendship, close and good neighbourliness, mutual cooperation and understanding, appreciation of each other’s sensitivities. The foundation of our relationship is very strong as our two countries share many commonalities in culture, history, geography and social lives, among others.
Nepal attaches profound significance to its relations with China. We are very pleased with the smooth and problem-free state of relations between our two nations. It gives us tremendous delight to see them continue to develop from strength to strength.
China has remained a long-standing and trusted development partner of Nepal. The Government and people of Nepal are grateful to China for its continued cooperation and assistance to Nepal in the spirit of true friendship.
Nepal is very much eager to learn from the Chinese experience to accelerate its own development. And we want closer cooperation and partnership for our development and shared prosperity.
Once again, on this joyous occasion, I am very pleased to extend good wishes of bliss, continued peace, optimum health and further prosperity to you and the friendly people of the People’s Republic of China.
I also take this opportunity to extend my sincere best wishes to our people on the occasion of Sonam Loshar.
