H.E. Mr. Liu Qibao, Member of Political Bureau and Secretariat of Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chief of the CPC Publicity Department, the People’s Republic of China arrived in Kathmandu today for three day visit.
H.E. Mr. Liu Qibao paid a courtesy call on the Rt. Hon’ble President Mrs. Bidya Devi Bhandari at Sheetal Niwas earlier in the afternoon.
Hon. Mr. Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance held bilateral talks with H.E. Mr. Liu Qibao this evening. During the talks, matters of mutual interests were discussed.
Hon. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance hosted a dinner in honor of H.E. Liu Qibao and his delegation.
H.E. Liu Qibao and his delegation was received at the VIP lounge of the Tribhuvan International Airport by senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On 19 December 2016, H.E. Mr. Liu Qibao will pay a courtesy call on the Rt. Hon’ble Prime Minister Mr. Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’. He will also attend the opening ceremony of the 7th China Festival in Kathmandu jointly organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Civil Aviation of Nepal, Ministry of Culture of China and Embassy of China in Nepal. The Festival will conclude on 22 December 2016.
H.E. Mr. Liu is accompanied by senior officials of the International Department and Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China.
H.E. Mr. Liu will depart on 20 December 2016 on completion of his three-day visit of Nepal.
