Her Excellency Minister for International Development Cooperation of Sweden Ms. Isabella Lövin paid a call on Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Mr. K. P. Sharma Oli yesterday at the latter’s office in Singha Durbar. Matters relating to mutual interest between Nepal and Sweden including possibility of cooperation in the areas of environmental sustainability, climate finance, gender equality and development cooperation were discussed during the meeting. While congratulating on promulgating a new constitution that remains a major achievement, she expressed Swedish commitment to help Nepal’s post-earthquake reconstruction works.
Also yesterday, Her Excellency Ms. Lövin paid a call on Hon. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Mr. Chandra Prakash Mainali. Similarly, she had separate meetings with Hon. Minister for Finance Mr. Bishnu Prasad Paudel and Chief Executive Officer of National Reconstruction Authority Mr. Sushil Gyawali. Discussions during those meetings were held on various issues of common concern as well as strengthening of further cooperation between the two countries in diverse areas.
The Minister for International Development Cooperation of Sweden made field visits to Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Patan Durbar Squares during her stay. She also held a meeting with IM Nepal and partner organizations.
Upon completion of her three-day visit to Nepal from 25 to 27 April 2016, she left Kathmandu today for Yangon.
