Rt. Hon Speaker’s arrival in India
The Speaker of the Legislature Parliament, Rt. Honourable Onsari Gharti arrived in India today in order to participate in the 2017 South Asian Speakers’ Summit on Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Summit will be held in Indore, Madhya Pradesh on February 18 and 19, 2017 and is intended for the Speakers of Parliament from eight SAARC member countries and Myanmar. The Summit is expected to deliberate on the role of Parliament in the implementation of SDGs.
On her arrival at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, the Rt. Honourable Speaker was received by His Excellency Deep Kumar Upadhyay, Ambassador of Nepal to India and officials of the Lok Sabha Secretariat. The Speaker reached Indore, Madhya Pradesh this evening. She is scheduled to return to Kathmandu on February 20, 2017. The delegation of the Rt. Honourable Speaker includes the Secretary General and other officials of the Parliament Secretariat.
