A meeting between Minister for Foreign Affairs Hon. Mr. Pradeep Kumar Gyawali and First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia H.E. Mr. Ivica Dačić was held in Kathmandu this evening.
During the meeting, the overall state of bilateral relations between Nepal and Serbia was reviewed. The Ministers particularly focused on the need of further promoting bilateral cooperation in areas of trade, investment, tourism, educational, cultural and technical cooperation, among others. The Ministers also exchanged views on easing visa process in order to facilitate the travel of nationals of the two countries.
The Serbian delegation included Ambassador of Serbia to Nepal H.E. Mr. Vladimir Maric, Advisor to First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr. Nikola Nedeljkovic and other officials from Serbian Foreign Ministry. The Nepali delegation consisted of Foreign Secretary Mr. Shanker Das Bairagi, Joint Secretaries at the Ministry Mr. Bharat Raj Paudyal and Mr. Ghanshyam Bhandari as well as other officials of the Ministry.
Following the meeting, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal hosted dinner in honour of the visiting First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia.
During his stay in Nepal, H.E. Mr. Dačić is scheduled to address a talk programme to be organised jointly by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Nepal Council of World Affairs. He will also pay courtesy calls on the Right Honourable President and the Right Honourable Prime Minister.
The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia arrived in Kathmandu this afternoon on a 3-day official tour. He is scheduled to depart from Kathmandu on 6 May.
