Special Assistant to the United States President and Senior Director for South Asian Affairs, Mr. Peter R. Lavoy, paid a courtesy call on Hon. Mr. Prakash Man Singh, Deputy Prime Minister and the leader of the Nepalese Delegation to the United Nations General Assembly at the Permanent Mission of Nepal in New York today. On the occasion, the two sides discussed various matters of mutual interest.
Earlier today, Hon. Foreign Minister held a meeting with Mr. Jeffrey D. Feltman, United Nations Under-Secretary General for Political Affairs. During the meeting, they discussed various matters including the conclusion of peace process in Nepal with the promulgation of new constitution on 20 September 2015.
Similarly, Ms. Nisha Desai Biswal, Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs of the United States Department of State, paid a courtesy call on Hon. Mr. Mahendra Bahadur Pandey, Minister for Foreign Affairs. Matters of mutual interest were discussed on the occasion.
Later today, the Hon. Minister held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Margot Wallström, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden. During the meeting, the two Foreign Ministers reviewed the excellent bilateral relations subsisting between the two countries and discussed the possibility of further cooperation in the international forums.
