Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honorable Mr. Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, will lead Nepali delegation to the Mid-Term Ministerial Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) to be held in Baku, capital city of Azerbaijan on 5-6 April 2018.
Other members of the delegation will be H.E. Mr. Durga Prasad Bhattarai, Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations in New York, and Counselor Mr. Surendra Thapa.
The Ministerial Conference will be preceded by the Senior Officials Meeting on 3-4 April 2018. The conference will assess the progress since the last summit of the NAM and prepare for the upcoming summit to be held in 2019.
The theme of this conference has been set to be “Promoting International Peace and Security for Sustainable Development”. Nepal is a founding member of the non-aligned movement and its principles constitute important elements of Nepal’s foreign policy.
